블랙캐비어 22연승 달성!!

Luke Nolen 기수의 막판 방심으로

아찔한 모습보여 호주 경마팬 한순간 경악..

 

 

호주경마 최고의 암말인 블랙캐비어(5세.암)가 22연승을 달성 하였다.

 

블랙캐비어는 영국 로얄 애스코트 (Royal Ascot)경마장에서 열린

다이아몬드 쥬빌리 경주(the diamond Jubilee Stakes)에서 우승을

차지하며 22연승을 달성 하였다.

 

호주에서 21연승을 달성한 블랙캐비어는 처음으로 지난 6월7일 해외원정에

나섰으며 23일(현지시각) 영국 로얄애스코트 경마장에서 열린 다이아몬드

쥬빌리 스테익스에서 우승을 차지하며 연승행진을 이어갔다.

 

14마리가 출전한 1200m.잔디주로.직선 경주로에서 열린 이번 경주에서

블랙캐비어는 출발과 함께 선두권에 위치하며 경주를 진행 하였다.

 

결승선을 100m 남겨 논 지점부터 뒷심을 발휘하기 시작한

블랙캐비어는 막판까지 우승 다툼을 벌이던 Moonlight Cloud를

머리차이(사실은 코차이 정도)로 앞서며 우승을 차지 하였다.

이번 첫 해외원정에서 우승을 차지한 블랙캐비어는 22연승을

이어가고 있으며 호주 경마의 영웅으로 다시 태어나게 되었다.

 

이날 호주 경마팬들은 영국 애스코트 경마장을 직접 찾아가 경주를 보았고

 중계경주로 호주에서 화면으로 보던 호주의 많은 경마팬들은

 열렬한 응원을 하며 22연승을 지켜 보았다.

 

그러나 자칫 블랙캐비어가 연승행진을 망칠수도 있었던 모습을

보여 경주를 지켜보던 호주의 경마팬들은 한순간 당황하며 놀라는

모습을 보였다.

 

 

 

 

블랙캐비어에 기승한 Luke Nolen 기수는 결승선을 50m 정도을 남겨 논

지점에서 우승을 예감하며 말몰이를 느슨하게 하며 멈추는 모습을 보였다.

그러나 내측에서 무서운 뒷심을 발휘하며 날라오는 Thierry Jarnet 기수의

Moonlight Cloud 을 보자 갑자기 놀라며 10여m 지점에서 다시 급하게

말몰이를 하며 머리차이(사실 코차이로 보임)로 앞서며 힘들게 우승을 하였다.

 

그 모습을 보고 있던 호주의 경마팬들과 일반 경마팬들은 깜작 놀라며

한순간 경마장에 정적이 돌기도 하였다.

 

결과적으로 우승을 차지 하였지만 막판에 미리 우승을 예감하고

방심하며 말몰이를 느슨하게 한 기수의 모습을 보면서 경마를

비롯하여 모든일에는 마지막 까지 최선을 다해야 한다는 것을 다시한번

느끼게 만들었던 순간 이었다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

블랙캐비어는 지난 5월 the Group one Goodwood 경기에서 21연승을 기록하며

호주경마내 최다연승 경주마로 등극했다.

 

종전 호주경마 역사상 최다연승은 1915~1917년 출주한 데저트골드(Desert Gold),

1919~ 1921년 활동한 글로밍(Gloaming)이 기록한 19연승이다.

 

한편, 경마 최다연승 세계기록은 56연승을 기록한 푸레르토리코의 ‘카마레로’ 경주마이다.

현재 블랙캐비어는 호주에서 파르 랩(Phar Lap)경주마를 뒤이을 최고의

국민마로서 사랑을 받고 있다.

 

블랙캐비어는 7명의 공동마주가 있는 것으로 유명하며

 가족 및 친구들로 이루어 져 있다.
